This Bank Holiday Mondays sees the bi-annual return of the much loved, traditional Haslemere Charter Fair.  Charter Walk Kitchen Living will be supporting this great free local event by opening the doors to our beautiful kitchen showroom.  From 13:00-17:00 on the day our friendly team will be welcoming you with an opportunity to browse our luxury kitchen showroom to see some of the lovely in-frame kitchen designs that we are able to supply.

Haslemere Charter Fair

Haslemere Charter Fair

Haslemere has a long market history going back to 1393 when Richard II and the Bishop of Salisbury confirmed the town’s weekly market by charter and an annual fair was granted. Around the end of the 16th century the market and fair were more or less abandoned, but luckily on May 24th 1596 Queen Elizabeth I revived the market.  The Haslemere Charter Fair is organized by a group of volunteers from Haslemere and surrounding villages and has been running every 2 years since it was reinstated in 1984. It is supported by Haslemere Town Council and organised by Haslemere Events.

What is at the Charter Fair?

The Haslemere Charter Fair is a free event for visitors and offers many things to do. The centre of the town is closed to traffic and transformed into an arena.  Alongside the many stalls offering products and services, there will be traditional fairground rides, animals, live music, stilt walkers and much much more to entertain you and all the family, so come along and join in the fun!

Unlike purely commercial events, the Charter Fair has always been a platform where local charities and organisations can raise their profile within the community. There are no admissions charges and many local charities and organisations benefit from the tremendous feeling of goodwill and joy that has been the essence of previous years.

Getting to the Charter Fair

On Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2018 the High Street and West Street will be closed to traffic and the entire area turned into an arena. There is a free Courtesy Bus which follows a route from Shottermill (the bus stop outside the Working Man’s Club) direct to the Fair. The 1st bus runs from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and a 2nd bus runs 1:00pm to 6:00pm.

Charter Walk Kitchen Living

Whilst keeping our fingers crossed for sunny weather, Ben Gane and the Charter Walk team will also be available in our luxury kitchen showroom during the Haslemere Charter Fair.  Our knowledgeable team can guide you through our luxury kitchen showroom displays and talk about any kitchen requirements you may have.  In addition to the designer in-frame kitchens on display we are also able to supply appliances, sinks and taps, kitchen lighting, worktops and splashbacks and a bespoke kitchen design service.  If your tastes are more German handleless kitchens, then we can talk you though our appointment based service at our other showroom in Guildford, Surrey.

We hope to see you on May 7th 2018 when the town will once again be transformed into a colourful spectacle, when the historic Haslemere Charter Fair comes to town!  But, if you can’t manage to visit us, then there’s still loads to see on our website, including our showroom tour and pictures of the latest kitchen transformations that we have installed in our portfolio section.
