We had the pleasure of working with Nick and Sarah on their new extension at their beautiful property in Abbotswood, Guildford. They had a clear vision for their kitchen - a modern kitchen with a clean look with a two-tone colour scheme. They requested that the cabinets be spray painted with anti-fingerprint paint, which has been increasingly popular since its introduction a few years ago.
The handleless kitchen design features clean lines that not only make it aesthetically pleasing but also very easy to clean. The layout is simple yet ergonomically sound, with tall cabinets placed at both ends. A custom-made dresser-style cabinet with a sink is located on the left side, next to a built-in Fisher & Paykel fridge freezer. On the other end of the kitchen, there are ovens and a larder cabinet with a sink. Wall cabinets connect the two ends of the kitchen. The island has a Bora hob that is externally extracted, and ample drawer storage below for pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen essentials.
Having stools at the end and on the return of the bar allows for easy socialising for 2 or 4 people and easy access to the bar for drinks! The bar area has been designed beautifully, with a built-in fridge and wine cooler. The use of mirrors and glass makes this piece of furniture quite bold and inviting.
The combination of a strong grey colour and natural oak flooring, complemented by white accents, creates a timeless space for cooking, dining, entertaining and relaxing.
